Hadrian's villa is a UNESCO World Heritage site is it one of the best kept archeological sights in Italy. The villa was built by Roman Emperor Hadrian at the foot of the Tiburtine Hills between 118 and 138 AD. The vast residential complex extended over an area of about 120 hectares (about 300 acres) and looked very much like an ancient Roman city. The site includes buildings, baths, temples, barracks, theatres, gardens, fountains and nymphaeums. After exploring the villa complex we will have lunch in Tivoli. After lunch visit Villa D' Este another UNESCO site, a stunning Rennaisance palace complex with beautiful ornamental gardens containing numerous fountains, two of which are ''musical fountains": the Fontana degli Uccelli and the Fontana dell'Organo, they both produce a musical sound from the water running through them.
